Minerals Species: Beryl var. Emerald in Calcite.
Location of mineral deposit: La Pita Mine, Vasquez-Yacopí District, Boyacá Department, Colombia.
Description: Gemmy lustrous transparent green emerald crystal, the green gem variety of the mineral species beryl, in gray calcite. The emerald crystal has prismatic hexagonal form with flat pinacoid termination and secondary corner faces. No damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 14x12x11 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 14 mm.
